Mac Forbes is indisputably one of Australia’s best winemakers and his wines have held a constant place on the list at Congress since the doors opened in late 2017. In late 2020, Katie McCormack and Mac Forbes set out to create a vibrant expression of Garganega for 2021 vintage. The result was not only a delicious wine but a dear friendship and a commitment to continue to create wine together with the Congress team.

Mac Forbes, about the wine
"The fruit came into the winery in stunning condition. The team then went to work drawing out as much interest as possible with some skin contact, big smiles and a couple of sessions covered in grape juice. The wine finished fermenting in older oak and was bottled without any fining. No additions other than a small amount of sulphur to retain freshness. This wine is a cellar favourite with wonderful mouthfeel, texture and life. Phenolics really add a lovely dimension and backdrop. Bloody delicious."
