Louis Porter was born in Yorkshire, where the annual agricultural show was the biggest event of the year. When he moved to Melbourne, Louis became fascinated by the Royal Melbourne Show with its mix of bright colours and moments of absurdity – a place that was equally overwhelming and endearing. Louis was inspired by the show’s dichotomy; that it was both quintessentially Melbourne, but also far removed from the Melbourne he knew.
